How Can I Check My Blood Pressure at Home?

Monitoring Tips:
- Avoid food, alcohol, caffeinated beverages, smoking, exercise or bathing 30 minutes prior to taking a measurement. It is also best to rest for 15 minutes before starting the measurement. Avoid taking measurements during stressful times.
- Wrap the cuff around your arm so it’s snug but not too tight. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to slip one finger under the cuff. Place the cuff against your skin, not over your clothing.
- It’s best to take blood pressure from the left arm, if possible. Your left arm should rest comfortably at heart level.
- Sit up straight with your back against the chair, legs uncrossed.
- With most machines, you must wait for 2 to 3 minutes before using it again. A digital blood pressure monitor will not be as accurate if your body is moving when you are using it. Also, an irregular heart rate will make the reading less accurate. However, digital monitors are the best choice for most people
Common Causes of Inaccurate Readings
A number of factors can affect your blood pressure and heart rate. If your numbers are unusually high or low, make some adjustments before trying again:
- Stress. When you’re worried, stress hormones temporarily elevate both your blood pressure and heart rate. Avoid stressors (like headlines or your to-do list) before checking your blood pressure at home.
- Drug and alcohol use. Tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine can affect your numbers, so avoid stimulants and depressants.
- Other medicines. Talk with your doctor about prescription and over-the-counter medicines that may interfere with an accurate reading.
Once you determine your heart rate and blood pressure, record them in a journal or app. Try taking your pulse and checking your blood pressure around the same time every day to establish a personalized baseline. It’s that baseline your doctor will use to help you determine what your numbers mean.

Товар получен, спасибо. Упакован хорошо. При измерении слышен звук нагнетания манжетки. Саму манжетку надо накладывать как показано в инструкции, тогда показатели давления точные. Единственное, никакого звука при включении нет.

Очень долго шла посылка, месяца два. Устройство меряет давление точно и быстро. Доволен. Из минусов отмечу: 1. экран имеет хороший контраст только в определенном положении, в остальных – бледно-серые цифры-знаки. Смотрите фото 2. Нельзя удалить сохраненные измерения индивидуально. Только очистка всей памяти долгим нажатием кнопки М. 3. В памяти дата и время не выводятся одновременно, только по очереди, что очень затрудняет поиск предыдущих замеров. Если исправить по моим замечаниям – устройство будет еще лучше) Но в общем я доволен. Красивый дизайн, отлично меряет давление, низкая цена.
