Ham radio operators have viewed the International Space Station as the holy grail of QSL cards — and I’m one of them. We’ve had the ability to chat FM simplex with astronauts or use the ISS digipeater on APRS. Now they’ve installed a customized Kenwood D710G and a new high-gain antenna with an FM repeater on the ISS making contacts easier than ever! You can likely use your HT and a rubber duck to hear the repeater with ease. Obviously, a directional antenna makes a huge difference in making contacts with ease.

Have you tried using your radio on then new ISS FM repeater? Tell me how it went in the comments below.
