The DishCOMM Modem exchanges phone data with DishCOMM-compatible receivers using DishCOMM Technology over the home power wiring.
Description
The DishCOMM Modem uses the power wiring in the home to exchange phone data with DishCOMM- compatible receivers through their power cords. The DishCOMM- compatible receivers can then dial out for Pay-Per-View, DishHOME Interactive TV, and other features that require a phone connection, without needing to be physically connected to a phone line.
• Passes Caller ID information to connected DishCOMM-compatible receivers.*
• Allows DishCOMM-compatible, dual-tuner/two-TV receivers to fulfill the phone line requirement without being physically connected to a phone line.

Connectivity
Considerations
• The DishCOMM Modem and any compatible receivers mush have their power cords connected directly to the electrical outlet. If a surge protector is required, a HomePlug-approved surge protector must be used and the receiver(s) and/or Modem must be plugged into the HomePlug outlet of the surge protector.
• Only one DishCOMM Modem needs to be connected to the home's phone system.
• LEDs on the DishCOMM Modem indicate current activity on the DishCOMM Network.
• DishCOMM equipment should not be plugged into switched outlets. • Dimmers for home lighting can interfere with DishCOMM. It is not recommended to use dimmers on the same circuit as DishCOMM
equipment. • Avoid plugging DishCOMM devices into GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter)
outlets, as they may interfere with the communications. • DishCOMM and HomePlug equipment can be used in the same
installation. • DishCOMM equipment may interfere with Phonex wireless extenders.
