On Wednesday February 11th 2004 DISH Network is planning to moving all the remaining HDTV programming including HBO and Showtime from 61.5 and 148 to the 110 Satellite. What this means is that you will now be able to pick up all of DISH Networks HDTV programming with a single DISH 500.

All the HDTV programming being moved to 110 will now be in the 8PSK format, which means you will not be able to receive it unless you purchase an 8PSK HDTV Upgrade Kit, or already have this upgrade installed in your Model 6000.

Some of the newer 6,000's came with the 8PSK upgrade from the factory, however all the older receivers sold before August of 2002 need to be upgraded to get these new channels when they become available. Check your system info screen to see if your receiver is capable of receiving 8PSK. It should display 8PSK right next to the model number. If it doesn't, buy this item and get your upgrade!
